Early experience with coagulation handpieces suggests that the PlasmaJet® system has a valuable role in reducing the leakage of lymph in post-bariatric abdominoplasty. The precise cutting capability with minimal damage to surrounding tissue suggests that the PlasmaJet® system might be suitable in several further applications in Plastic Surgery:

• Drying the large tissue surfaces in abdominoplasty
• Excision of encapsulated breast implants
• Blepharoplasty
