The PlasmaJet system brings the benefits of a clean and precise technology for cutting and coagulation for many surgical procedures in a wide variety of specialty areas. Being electrically-neutral, it provides surgeons with a safe device that eliminates the risks of burning and tissue damage from electrosurgery.

Since clinical validation of the PlasmaJet began in late 2004, over a thousand documented procedures have been performed in the United States, Europe and Asia. While the initial experience was gained using the system for coagulation only, the more recent availability of the system designed to cut tissue with simultaneous coagulation has dramatically accelerated the clinical experience program. The first papers describing the clinical use of the system are now appearing in peer-reviewed journals.

The PlasmaJet system is highly effective in both open and laparoscopic surgical procedures. When used laparoscopically it produces little or no plume smoke, and with very low gas flow there is no risk of overpressure in the pneumoperitoneum.
